It is a very clear evening, the horizon is super sharp. I enjoy the fading light of the “blue hour” and go for this very minimal interpretation in two halves, both blue but complimentary. I want to photograph the nothing, to show how beautifully empty the sea can be. I love the feeling of immensity in this picture, of infinity, and of course the textures of the water and the foreground sand which keep us grounded.
